While we know they are busy, prices have started to sore, and they have become harder to work with. Some carriers do not want long length bundles, affecting our handrail shipping.
Our team gathered to discuss how we can help our customers save money on shipping and ensure all still receive the best shipping possible.
We believe we have a NEW possible solution for those who are concerned about shipping costs.
If you need "longer" length handrail, you can now order those lengths to be cut in half, prepped for a rail bolt kit with the matching rail bolt kit, and shipped.
This offering will be fulfilled BY REQUEST ONLY.
DETAILS:
- Once your handrail arrives, the installer bolts and glues together the two pieces.
- The handrail cut in half, when re-assembled will still have continuity of the grain (less the saw cut) that the original full-length piece had.

As always, shipping costs vary based on location. The numbers calculated below are based on a small sampling done by the Oak Pointe team.
- 1 handrail piece 16' could have a shipping cost of about $410
- 2 handrail pieces 8' could have a shipping cost of around $250
Note: 94" pieces can ship via FedEX ground for even less
By allowing Oak Pointe to cut your handrail and prep for a rail bolt, you could save approximately $150 (based on the above example).
