Are you building a new home or beginning renovations on an older home?

Either way, congratulations, what an exciting journey you are on! Each process poses very different challenges. The Oak Pointe staffs desire to help you along the way by making one step a little easier (pun intended).

1. What type of staircase system are you building or renovating? Check out some typical staircase anatomies here.
   
2. What type of balustrade system do you desire?
   1. Post-to-Post: This balustrade system handrail is not continuous, meaning the handrail extends from one newel to the next.
   2. Over-the-Post: This balustrade system uses handrail fittings and over-the-post newels to create a seamless and continuous handrail system.

Wood: Standard and Specialty

Oak Pointe has 12 standard wood species that are always in stock. These wood species are the most requested and are available in various sizes for quick turn-around projects and any custom order.

If a project requires a wood species that is not listed, Oak Pointe can procure more exotic (Specialty) woods such as the EXAMPLES listed below. Oak Pointe also offers reclaimed, heartwood/sapwood, character grade/knotty options. Whatever wood species a project requires, Oak Point can almost certainly source it.

Iron

If you desire an iron stair system, Oak Pointe has beautiful Pacific and European Collections that include styles for all décor featuring ribbons, twists, and baskets, and even geometric shapes and scrollwork.  

Interior use only

Cable, Tubes, & Glass

As part of the Modern Metal Made Easy Series, cable, tubes, and glass options can create a sleek and modern stairway appearance. You can pair these with our and variety of wood or stainless steel newels.

Oak Pointe Stainless Steel products are available in 304 or marine-grade 316.

Linear Metal Panel

As a part of our Modern Metal Collection, Linear Metal Panel System offers a modern industrial look to staircase designs. For ease of installation, the pre-assembled (hardware included) panels showcase a ‘welded’ look that complements modern décor.

Choose from various standard sizes, or have custom panels created to fit perfectly for your specific design. For dramatic effect, install Linear Metal Panels vertically and/or horizontally.
